So I was wondering if these are a complete write off or not. Got ganked by some cunt at my first one, may his parents kill his internet. Then hit 3 others with various groups, 2 in DZ06, and got shitty purples. Has anyone got anything worth while out of these or are they just a distraction to extract while the morons fuck each other up over them?
JVR, Skunk, Kostas and I had one land next to us and got 1 gold and 1 purple. We got more sweet sweet loot from doing the Sports Store, Library, etc. loop - We kept having our instances changed due to server loads which meant they were constantly full of goodness. The beauty of the drops is it sucked people away from the extract zones, which meant nice clear loot extracts (except for the one we did with Slato later on when we all ran in at the same time instead of two then two and we got smashed Good times!).
I prefer the DZ bosses for loot drops over the Airdrops.
to me they are just Rouge Fests! They have never really got anything good. Better stuff, as Smiff said, from the DZ bosses! It also screws with the farming routes as they are off the track and take you to places where you don't really want to go.
I think scavenging makes a difference in loot returns from mobs and crates, we know it made fuck all difference with div tech chests. But it could just be better RNG on the day again.
As for DZ chests drops, I've only been getting 2 x purples a time, I'd rather tag the boss from afar and then let whoever else is around get the chest, clear off, then go in for the boss' loot, always a HE.
I think they goofed the loot table for the boxes, "best loot that players will be looking for", sure isn't coming from chests.
I'm beginning to get more grey hairs than frags these days.
