    This new weapon can be found in carepackages & as a very rare loot spawn ... I still Haven't found an AWM

    AMA: Creative Director Brenden “PLAYERUNKNOWN” Greene

    Brenden “PLAYERUNKNOWN” Greene dropped by the Top PUBG subreddit today to answer some questions from the community. While we didn’t get any groundbreaking info from the Creative Director, we did learn some interesting details on what to expect moving forward and some answers on some of the more frustrating issues players have experienced with the game.

    Some of the biggest issues that players face while playing PUBG is the net code, server tick rate, and hit detection in the game. These have been issues that fans have been waiting to see improvement on since the release of early access and when asked about the net code issues Brenden gave the following response:

    “This is not an easy task, and may take many months to implement but I understand your frustrations, and while I can’t speak to specifics about what and how we will optimize the net code (as it’s beyond my understanding) we will continue to apply optimizations and work to improve all the things you mentioned. It is one aspect of the game we want to improve!”

    As we move later into the year, and the list of features being added to the game continues to grow, many have started to wonder if PUBG will keep its official release window and what features will be included when it moves from early access to launch. Thankfully, Brenden touched on the subject by giving a hard list of features that will be in release and reassured players it will be moving from early access before the end of the year.

    “So, just to clarify what we will 100% be adding for the full release:
    • User interface rework
    • Profound debugging of the vehicles physics (This will be an ongoing process continuing after full release)
    • Bullet physics rework
    • Audio mix and volume rework
    • Client heavy optimizations (This will be an ongoing process continuing after full release)
    • Network code, predictions and tempo management heavy optimizations (This will be an ongoing process continuing after full release)
    • Improving server’s stability, and increase in performance and tick rate (This will be an ongoing process continuing after full release)
    • 3D Replays

    Again, I just want to remind everyone that full release of the game doesn’t mean we stop development. We are building out a service that we intend to improve on over the coming months and years, and even if we don’t get everything into our full release, we will be working to add any missing features in the months and years following our move to 1.0”

    Along with touching on net code and the features that players can expect to be added before the game moves into full release, Brenden also dropped a few new surprises that will be coming to the game. These surprises include improvements and reworks of Erangel, major improvements to the FPP experience, 3 new vehicles, and crosshair customization.

    Patch PC 1.0 Update #8

    Weapon Skins, Bug Fixes and "THINKING" about region locking (I mean come on already!)


    Players,


    We are always working towards improving the gameplay environment. This includes providing stable network experience for our players. You all know that we have implemented ping based matchmaking system that has shown great results but we didn't want to stop there.

    One of the solutions we are considering is operating servers so that only those players who reside in that region can connect and play. These servers will be made invisible to players residing in other regions. But, at the same time, if a player in an exclusive server region forms a team with a player from another region, they can connect to and play on any of the servers available to either of them.

    Through this new approach we are aiming to provide a better gameplay experience as it will improve network issues and help with linguistic barriers. We are going to run a limited test of this approach as more detailed research and analysis should come before global application.

    After the updates made to this test build are proven to be stable, they will be applied to the live servers. We will announce the timeline for the live server update soon.

    Weapon Skin System

    Players can select skins for each weapon
    Weapon skin system UI
    Each weapon category is arranged in alphabetical order
    Weapons can be categorized as follows:
    Acquired: arranged in chronological order of acquisition
    Equipped: arranged in chronological order of last time equipped
    Tier: arranged according to skin tier (descending order)
    You can check details about the equipped skin using VIEW MORE button
    How to equip weapon skins
    You can use WEAPONS section in CUSTOMIZATION menu to equip the skin of your choice
    The ways to acquire weapon skins
    You can acquire weapon skins either through paid crate (“Triumph Crate”), which is a weekly random crate or “Raider crate”, which is a free non-random crate


    New Crates

    New free/paid weapon skin crates are added
    We will be providing 100,000 BP, 20x Weapon Skin keys, 20x Early Bird keys, 10x Triumph Crates to all test accounts to test the stability of the system
    New paid crate “Triumph” is a weekly random crate, and the drop rate is 20%.
    Triumph Crate can be unlocked using Weapon Skin Key, which can be purchased through Steam market
    There are 2 rare bonus sets that can also be an acquired alongside single skins
    The drop rate of each crate is as follows
    Survivor: 10%
    Wanderer: 10%
    Biker: 20%
    Desperado: 10%
    Militia: 20%
    Fever: 10%
    Triumph: 20%

    Players can get the new free crate (“Raider”) separately with 100% drop rate
    "Raider" doesn't need a key to unlock

    The drop rate for the new free/paid crate are as follows:

    Bug Fixes
    Fixed an issue where the refresh button on the friends list would take you to the team tab when players are in a team
    Fixed an issue where when players leave the vehicle and the vehicle is positioned right next to the window of a building, players would go into the building through the window when getting out off the vehicle
    Fixed an issue where during server instability, when exiting a slow moving vehicle, the players would be treated as if they were hit by their own vehicle

    New Update 6.4GB today!

    No more clothes spawning, update to Miramar and changes to the blue zone. Still no map selection or region locking :-x

    Blue zone seems to move after less time but slower in later phases. More deadly end game.
    Miramar has more settlements and vehicles.

    Leader can also kick team members which is good when people forget to leave team.

    New 10gb patch update:

    Major weapon changes/balances, new DMR, new vehicle (Miramar) new attachments (grips and scopes), map selection (finally) and many more. Read it here.

    Even though it looks like shotguns have been nerfed, they now penetrate through limbs.
    Most ARs have been nerfed but AK has been buffed.
    Mini and VSS weren't hit with DMR nerf.
